About Me
As a technology leader, I bridge deep systems expertise, AI engineering, and the power of clear communication.
I'm Christian Riesen, a technology leader based in Switzerland with over three decades of experience building large-scale systems, leading engineering teams, and driving technical strategy.
My journey has taken me from support to development to architecture and leadership roles. Most recently, I've been focused on AI platform engineering, helping organizations build the infrastructure needed to deploy and scale machine learning systems.
What Drives Me
I believe in the power of well-designed systems. Whether it's a distributed image processing pipeline handling millions of requests, or an AI platform serving production workloads, the principles remain the same: clarity, reliability, and scalability.
Beyond building, I'm passionate about communicating technical ideas. Complex systems become more valuable when more people understand them. That's why I speak at conferences, write about technology, and invest in mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Background
I spent over a decade at Liip AG, progressing from Senior Developer to Architect. During this time, I also served as CTO of rokka.io, where I led the technical strategy for a high-performance image delivery service processing millions of images daily.
Currently, I'm working on AI platform engineering, bringing the lessons learned from large-scale systems to the rapidly evolving world of AI infrastructure.
Speaking & Writing
I regularly speak at conferences and meetups on topics ranging from web performance to systems architecture. I believe that knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied.
If you're organizing an event and looking for a speaker on systems engineering, AI platforms, or technical leadership, feel free to reach out.
