egovpartner is the partnership network of the municipalities, the cities and the canton of Zürich, driving the digital transformation of public administration. In early 2026 it put its AI platform out to public tender: a scalable base portfolio of AI applications, on shared secure infrastructure, for administrations that handle some of the most sensitive personal data there is.

I co-pitched that tender for AlpineAI, and we won it. I now own the resulting programme end to end — 116 municipalities, a budget of CHF 10 million, a horizon of ten years — currently onboarding municipalities, single sign-on requirements and all.

What makes this work interesting is not the AI. It is that a small municipality and a large city have to get the same platform, the same guarantees and the same data protection, on infrastructure that never leaves Switzerland. That constraint decides the architecture: shared where it is safe to share, isolated everywhere it is not. Alongside it runs an intense collaboration with ZHAW and with many of the larger municipalities in the canton.

It is also the clearest example of what I actually do at this level: find the opportunity, make the technical case in a competitive tender, win it, and then be accountable for delivering it for a decade.
